The short version
- You can use HearCover without an account and without giving us your name.
- We never ask about your health, your hearing, or your Medicare number.
- If you give us your email, we use it only to send benefit updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- We don't sell or rent your information to anyone.
What we collect
Your email address, only if you sign up for updates. It's stored with our email provider, Buttondown, which sends our messages for us. We send one short note each fall when new plan benefits come out, plus the rare important update. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Choices saved in your own browser. To save you time, your browser remembers the state and county you picked and your text size. This stays on your device. We don't receive it, and you can clear it by clearing your browser's site data.
Basic technical information. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard web request details such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit, so it can deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We may look at overall visit counts to see how many people use the site. We don't use advertising cookies or build profiles of visitors.
What we don't collect
We don't ask for or store your name, address, date of birth, Medicare number, health conditions, or anything about your hearing. The plans you look up aren't tied to your email or to you.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run the site: Cloudflare (hosting) and Buttondown (email). They handle information for us under their own privacy terms. We don't share your information with insurance companies, agents, brokers, or hearing clinics, and we don't sell it. We would disclose information only if the law required it.
Ads
We may advertise HearCover on sites like Google or Facebook. If you reach us from an ad, the ad platform may know you clicked it, under its own privacy policy. We don't send your email or the plans you looked up to ad platforms.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from emails with the link in any message. You can also ask us to tell you what we hold about you or to delete your email address by writing to hello@hearcover.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
Children
HearCover is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Not affiliated with Medicare
HearCover is an independent website. We aren't affiliated with or endorsed by Medicare, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, or any insurance company. Plan information comes from public CMS data. Always confirm your benefit with your plan.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use your email, we'll tell subscribers first.
